She is primarily known as the founder and manager of a cosmetics company bearing her name, and as a former member of the Knesset representing the Likud party. Over the years, she has appeared in numerous television programs and performed songs addressing political and social issues. ## Biography Penina Rosenbloom was born on December 30, 1954, in Petah Tikva. She grew up in a neighborhood near the market in the city, to an Iraqi-born mother, Tova, and a father, Tzvi (Helmut), who emigrated from Germany. When she was one year and eight months old, her father abandoned the household and severed contact with the family. In 1986, she located her father in Germany and discovered she had two additional half-brothers. ## Career ### Modeling and Film In 1971, Rosenbloom made her first film appearance in "Queen of the Road," and that same year was selected as first runner-up for "Queen of the Waters." These events marked the beginning of her modeling career. In the early 1970s, she competed in beauty pageants but decided to withdraw from them to avoid damaging her career. She was a leading model in Israel and the United States, where she lived for several years and was known by the name Penina Golan. On December 14, 2005, she was sworn in to the 16th Knesset as a member of the Likud faction, after Tzachi Hanegbi resigned. The couple adopted their daughter from an orphanage in Ukraine (born 1993) and their son from an orphanage in Romania (born 1995). Rosenbloom did this because she was unable to bear children herself. The couple divorced in 2001. In 2003, she divorced from her second marriage. In 2004, she married for the third time to businessman Roni Simanowitz, a divorcé and father of three children from his first marriage, including model Coral Simanowitz. In 2005, she announced that she was pregnant but subsequently suffered a miscarriage. In 1992, she purchased a villa in Ramat Gan, one of the most expensive real estate transactions conducted in the country. In 2011, she moved to the Ramat Aviv neighborhood in Tel Aviv. In 2025, she purchased a new apartment in a development by the Hajj brothers at the Tel Aviv Port. In 2006, she was ordered by the regional labor court in Tel Aviv to pay compensation to foreign workers she had employed illegally in her home.
